About the
Project
Following the implementation of a new hospitality system within Efteling, I was assigned as Scrum Master to the Hotels & Resorts web team. In this role, I support the team in making the most of Scrum and help them collaborate effectively while continuously improving the digital guest experience.
As a Scrum Master, I facilitate the Scrum process and ensure the team can work efficiently and in a structured way. I guide the different Scrum events, monitor progress, and help the team identify and resolve impediments in a timely manner. In addition, I coach team members in applying Agile and Scrum principles so the team can keep developing and respond effectively to change.
Together, we work on further developing and optimizing the online environment for Hotels & Resorts, with the goal of providing our guests with a smooth and magical digital experience — from inspiration to booking. By focusing on collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement, we ensure that the team moves forward with every sprint.

The
Process
Our Scrum process is an Agile way of working in which a team delivers value step by step in short, fixed periods (sprints).
The process starts with a Product Backlog, a prioritized list of wishes, improvements, and tasks for the product. During Sprint Planning, the team decides together which items from the backlog will be worked on in the upcoming sprint.
A sprint lasts two weeks. During this period, the team works on the selected tasks to deliver a working product (or part of it). Every day there is a Daily Scrum Update, a short stand-up meeting in which the team discusses progress and identifies any obstacles.
At the end of the sprint, there is a Sprint Demo where the delivered work is presented to the stakeholders, and the team reflects on the past sprint during a retrospective.
After that, the next sprint begins, with the team continuously inspecting and improving. This allows the product to keep developing step by step.
Delivering parts of a project in short sprints, achieving faster results for everyone and providing a better response to customer needs — that is what you accomplish with Scrum. So let’s do it!
